WOW. Hello friends. I hope all is well with you at this moment of time (either it be day or night)...
Life has been busy lateey, which seems to be the case of almost every person I know. There are times I wish to be 12
again...hanging out at pool during the summer,...iceskating in the winter... aaahh goodtimes.
Goodtimes are still happening. I'm currently going to school @ McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Mn and loving
it:) The school has such a great collection of talented professors who never cease to inspire. I am having such a great
time working on my craft and meeting such wonderful people. Call it fate, but McNally is where I met my current band The GrooveStains.
yes, yes,,... we came up with the name "the groovestains"... for a while the band was called "The StacyK
Band"... but i wanted it to be more than just my name-- you know, cuz we are a band. So there was a show we were playing
at, actually it was at the Acadia and Steve McClaulin asked me, "stace,.. whats your band name".. and I just said,
"uh, the groovestains," he was like, "the groovestains???"..
it was a silly inside joke we called ourselves or when we were rehearsing and someone would do something amazing.. you
know it leaves a groovestain. silly, i know:)
And so I recorded an acoustic EP in January. Trent's lead work is on it and i'm singing and playing guitar. We worked
out @ Skyland Studios w/ Darren Rust....the best recording experience i have ever had. we worked hard in those 2 days, but
it was worth it.
So now there is merchandise and cd's at live shows(and other various locations, check the news section). we also went
out on tour over spring break and am currently working on the beginning of our summer tour. I tend to keep the myspace page
updated on a daily basis, so check that, add me to your friends if you're interested in hearing current updates.
other than school and the groovestains, i'm playing with the Urban Myth band. They are such wonderful friends of mine
and we still rock it out just about every weekend:) if you dig dancing to live cover music---come check us out too. OH which
reminds me, i also sing backup for Post Party Funkin'--- another funk cover band that is BADASS! a must see!
ok, so thats whats goin on. I hope everything is great with you. Its good to remind yourself to breathe and live in the
moment..
once its gone, its gone.
all the love-
stacyk.
JULY 3RD, 2007.
It's another hot, humid day here in Minneapolis, MN and I'm sitting in my room (which is in a basement) hoping I won't
have to end the lives of any more centipedes!! (eww!) Our household has decided against turning on the AC, as we're usually
away from home......
Life has been busy, good busy lately. I'm still playing with the Urban Myth band, which usually keeps my weekends
booked and full of interesting events. We recently played Springfield's Riverside Dayz, which was a great time for me as
its only 15 miles West of my hometown Sleepy Eye. Needless to say, I saw many good friends from home. Unfortunately its
difficult to have a decent conversation from stage. Coming this July I will attend my 5 year class reunion... wow 5 years.
I'm excited to see what everyone else has been up to.
I'm also waiting to pick up my DEMO duplications. I've decided to hold off on my EP, as I will be recording another
song this month.... There is a possible chance "ATTIC SESSIONS" will be available @ live shows of my own (or if
you contact me via email!) This is a collection of 7 self-written songs. All of which have a story of some kind behind them...(i'll
tell u if u ask!!).... BUT I will def let everyone know about the ATTIC SESSIONS when its out. LIMITED COPIES will be available.
OK, what else.
I accompanied Mr. David "Peewee" Radford on a motorcyle run this past weekend. We had a great time:) it was
a beautiful summer day, just amazing weather. The only problem is now i have to figure out how to get rid of this awkward
tan!!:)
Today is a good friends b-day, so I'm off to make a home made cake!!!:) secret family recipe! OH, i can hear the rain
belting...its a backdrop to Ella Fitzgerald's "I've got it bad (and that aint good)"....i guess the humidity finally
broke and this song screams beautiful misery.
enjoy july!..

hi. its APRIL 2007
hmmmm. lets see, whats new with me..... I joined a new cover band called The Urban Myth Band. We play just about everything...funk,
rock, 80's, 90's, current stuff, a little country. I laugh alot with those guys, always a good time. We play clubs around
town (mpls/st.paul) and i've really enjoyed jumping into the mpls music scene. speaking of, i've been playing original shows
around town too!!:)Coffee shops and clubs... i've been taking more time to work on original projects. Which leads to me talking
about recording. I'm currently scheduled to do the final takes on a few songs i wrote. It should be finished by the middle
of June, or at least that is what's "scheduled". SO if we stick to the "schedule" the cd should be done,
well by June. No worries, i'm sure i'll let everyone I know,..or dont know for that matter, know about it. OH yeah, and i'm
going to school. can u believe it???? haha, yeah. McNally Smith is the place to be for me in the fall of 2007. i think its
going to be pretty rad. I'm not too thrilled about studying again though----
oh and i turn 23 next tuesday. i'm looking forward to the age of 23. i'm thinking 22 had a good run, but i'm glad its
done.
and i like to rhyme.
do u have a dime
or the time
to keep reading this???
until next time-----------cheers.
